Shri Maha Rudram – chanting of Shri Rudram from Krishna Yajurveda Samhita – 1331 times – will be be performed at SVT as a lead up to Maha KumbAbhishekam scheduled for April 2020.

SHRI RUDRAM is a Vedic mantra or chant in homage to Rudra (an epithet of Shiva) taken from the Krishna Yajurveda’s Taitriya Samhita.
It comprises two parts, the Namakam and Chamakam. Chamakam is added by scriptural tradition to the Shri Rudram.
Shri Rudram is also known as Śri Rudrapraśna, Śatarudrīya, and Rudradhyaya.
The text is important in Shaivism where Shiva is viewed as God. The hymn is an early example of enumerating the names of a deity

Chanting of Rudram is meant to bless one and all with a blissful experience, providing peace of mind and at the same time eradicate obstacles to progress & prosper.
