“Thai Poosam” is a sacred Hindu festival that is celebrated to commemorate the triumph of good over evil. The day of Thai Poosam is observed annually during the ‘Poosam’ star in the Tamil month of “Thai’.
Lord Sri Murugan, is the embodiment of Lord Shiva’s light and wisdom. Devotees pray to him to overcome the obstacles they face, as He is the divine vanquisher of evil. The motive of Thaipoosam festival is to pray to God, to receive his grace so that bad traits are destroyed.
